Jessie Lugo Byrd

Comments: Joy(Ruff) & I went to Hawaii in 1963 for a one month vacation. Loved it there & decided to stay awhile & that's where I met & married my husband of 37 years, Ron Byrd. Ron was a career sailor, so we spent the first 27 years moving all over the place about every 2 to 3 years. I loved the adventure! We lived in Calif., Guam, Conneticut, Florida, S. Carolina, Spain, New Mexico, Hawaii, & for our last tour we chose Chas. S.C. because we decided to make this our home. In the meantime we had two children, Ronnie & Tiffany. We also have two grandchildren, Gabrielle & Lleyton. Our daughter lives here in Chas., so I get to enjoy the Grans. Chas is a great place to live if you can handle the hurricanes. My husband was overseas when Hurricane Hugo hit Chas. in 1989. My daughter & I rode it out alone. It was very scarry! That was 12 years ago, we're old pros at it now, we pack up our important stuff & get out of Dodge.
It has been wonderful reconnecting with old & dear friends. Am so looking forward to seeing everyone.
